DISCOVER I AM ONE

Learning Who We Are and How We Belong

I Am One helps children understand themselves, others and the world around them by exploring Nature, Nurture, self, community and belonging.
It begins with a simple idea: every child is one whole person. They are also one of many — part of a family, a classroom, a community and a shared world.

Four Ways to Explore Being Human

I Am One helps children (and the grown-ups who love them) explore Nature, Nurture, self, community and belonging — one life lesson at a time.

Nature & Nurture

Every child has a Nature — the qualities, interests, abilities and ways of being that make them who they are.
Every child is also shaped by Nurture — the people, experiences, cultures and environments that influence how they learn, grow and respond to the world.
Exploring both helps children understand that who they are is not defined by any one trait, experience or expectation.

Understanding Myself

Self-understanding begins when children learn to notice what is happening within them.
By exploring their feelings, needs, strengths, values and choices, children can develop language for who they are and what helps them feel supported, capable and connected.
The goal is not to have all the answers. It is to help children become curious about themselves.

Understanding Others

Other people may think, feel, communicate and experience the world differently.
Children learn that differences do not have to divide us. Listening, asking questions and considering another person’s point of view can build empathy, respect and stronger relationships.
Understanding others begins with recognizing that every person has a story we may not be able to see

Community & Belonging

Belonging means knowing that who we are matters and that we have a place among others.
Children explore what it means to participate, contribute, ask for help, care for others and help create communities where more people can feel included.
I Am One teaches two truths at the same time: I am one person, and together, we belong.
Every child is one of a kind—and part of something greater. When they understand that they matter and that others matter too, belonging becomes the answer.
